Attending the NYSSBA convention? Come visit us at booth 403!

Later this week, I will be heading up to the New York School Board Association (NYSSBA) Annual Convention in Rochester. It will be the first time that eScholar has participated in the event and I’m looking forward to it. I know that school boards play an important role in shaping the vision and setting goals for their schools. As we at eScholar strive to personalize education for all students, I want to engage with school board leaders on how we can work together to do so.

With over 2,000 people in attendance, such as school board leaders, district administrators, and teachers, it’s going to be a great crowd. Plus, the NYSSBA has planned great workshops, such as “Data-Based Decision Making for Student Achievement” and “Data: Your District’s Secret to Success” (Is it obvious that I get excited about data?).  There will also be inspiring education leaders speaking throughout the event, such as:

  • Dr. John King – NY State Education Commissioner
  • Juan Williams – Journalist and political analyst
  • Bea McGarvey – Education consultant and author
  • Erin Gruwell – Education advocate and author of The Freedom Writers Diary

Are you or anyone from your organization going to be at the convention? Come visit me and other members of the eScholar team at booth 403 on the expo floor. The convention takes place October 25-27 at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center. If you can’t make it out to the convention this year, keep track of what’s happening on Twitter by following @escholar_news and with the hashtag #NYSSBA12 .
